The requirement was to build a browser-based extension that had the ability to capture and share static images & videos from the user’s screen in the least amount of steps possible. They wanted to use this extension to address the use cases that students and working professionals came across on a regular basis. The client also wanted the extension to have an elaborate annotation section with features that align with the user’s primary requirements.
We built an end-to-end screen-capturing solution with a clean and user-friendly interface. The extension provides users with multiple options to capture screenshots of a part or the entirety of the screen without any hassle. We also made a video tab that worked in a similar fashion. The extension can capture the screen in as low as 2 clicks and that number is 3 clicks for recording a video. The annotation window, as requested, was equipped with several useful features like - Steps, Image Removal, and many more. We also integrated Google Drive for a seamless storage and sharing option for the user’s content, along with an integration with Google Lens to identify entities in a captured image.
